With a humble beginning in 2005, Indochine Bio Plastiques (ICBP) now can take pride with its achievements as one of the companies in the world which has the Halal certification in bio-plastic resin, which is non-toxic, good for the health and environmentally friendly, compared to the normal petroleum resin.

AMIR show some of the products produced from bio-degradable resin.

The company produces bio-degradable resin from a certain type of tapioca flour. The bio-plastic resin is melted and molded to produce among others, cutleries, plates, auto components, vases, buckets, and furniture.

ICBP has the capacity to produce hundreds of tons of product monthly which are exported for international market such as France, United States, Japan, Korea and Middle East countries.

The Managing Director, Amir Abul Hassan Ashari said, within the first three years of its operation, ICBP bought several machines for the productions of their products. From there they went on to design their own machines according to their specific requirements.

Amir said, when the company began to show its potentials to grow and make profits, he tried to apply for loans from several banks but was unsuccessful because he could not meet their terms.

“Luckily, within less than two months, MARA provided us with financial assistance of RM4.5 million as start-up capital and to buy our much needed production machineries from the United States and Sweden,” Amir told Utusan Malaysia.

“I was a former student at MRSM Kuantan, class of 1980/84 and MARA continued to sponsor my education at A-Level right up to Bachelor Degree in Law at the Islamic International University Malaysia (UIAM)."

“I got MARA sponsorship since the age of 12 till 45. In return, it is my intention to help MARA in the best way possible when my company is successful.”
