MARA IN FASHION (MIF)

Background

MARA in Fashion (MiF) is a platform for fashion entrepreneurs to showcase their brand through clothing, shoe and accessory designs.  It is an initiative by MARA in an effort to support the nation’s fashion industry by producing Bumiputera fashion icons for local and international markets.

The programme consists of entrepreneurship and technical training and coaching, as well as upskilling courses comprising four segments in fashion industry namely fashion designer, pattern maker, producer and retailer.

Objectives
  • To create new and strengthen existing fashion entrepreneurs that hold ready to wear collections and possess the potential to be developed into producers and retailers
Target Groups
  • Young fashion designers among IPMA and other higher education institution graduates as well as existing fashion entrepreneurs in the market that hold ready to wear collections
Outcome
  • Creation of fashion design entrepreneurs
  • Creation of fashion consultants and designers for celebrities
  • Creation of fashion boutiques
  • Domestic market penetration in Fashion Valet, Primavalet etc
  • International market penetration in Modestrove
