ENTREPRENEURSHIP SECTOR
INTRODUCTION
The Entrepreneur Development Division (BPU) is in charge of conducting MARA entrepreneurship training programs. Implementation of this entrepreneurship program is made through MARA State Office and District MARA Office throughout the country.
OBJECTIVE
Encouraging, creating, enhancing and strengthening Bumiputera entrepreneurs through training, business encouragement, advisory and strategic cooperation.
ROLES
- Structured Program
This program is implemented solely in stand alone or in the package including Entrepreneurship Training, Business Plan, Coaching, Industrial Placement, Simulation and so on covering the following aspects:- Culture and creation
- Empowerment and consolidation
- Improvement and stabilization
This entrepreneurial training program is targeted at entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs at various levels ie Start up or T3 entrepreneurs (<1 year), Protect or Progressive (> 2 to 5 years) and Scale Up or Premier (5 years and above).
- Coaching and Mentoring
The Coaching and Mentoring Program is a professional service from industry / business experts acting as a ‘referral and mentor’ in the areas as below :- Development & Research

- Advisory Service
The Advisory Services Program is a facility provided by MARA to entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs in getting guidance in developing entrepreneurs. This outreach program and advisory services can be obtained through 117 MARA District Offices and 14 MARA State Offices. - Special Program
Special programs organized under the Entrepreneurship Sector are programs designed to develop entrepreneurs in potential industries in a package. The special program also includes entrepreneurship program entitled ‘Turun Padang’ which gives an overview of MARA’s overall and holistic entrepreneurial activities including education, investment and involvement of MARA’s subsidiaries.Special Program implemented by MARA Entrepreneurship Sector through the involvement of MARA State Office (PMN), MARA District Office (PMD), MARA Education Institution (IPMa) and MARA subsidiary. The program is a platform to channel accurate and correct information to rural communities on entrepreneurship programs under MARA and entrepreneurship agencies under the Ministry of Rural Development.
Among the special programs are the Women’s Economic Inspiration Program (WISE), MERCU, HIT Barber, MARA in Fashion (MIF), Gate to Global (GTG), Beauty in Business (Biss).
INTRODUCTION
The Commercial Infrastructure Division (BIK) is in charge of supporting economic development through the provision of business space lots and conducive environment premises, complete with facilities and located in strategic and commercial areas. The BIK also creates and develops business opportunities in strategic industries through collaboration with automotive, food and beverage, construction, lifestyle and service industry players. Infrastructure improvement in MARA Industrial Estate (KIM) is aimed at MESTI, HALAL and Good Manufacturing Product (GMP) certification towards making KIM a HALAL Park.
OBJECTIVES
- Encouraging, creating, enhancing and strengthening entrepreneurs through training activities, business matching, consultancy and strategic collaborations.
- To create and develop business opportunities and market access in selected industries towards the creation of high-income Bumiputera Commercial and Industrial Communities (MPPB)
- Providing business premises and enterprise premises in strategic and appropriate locations throughout the country.

- Plan, coordinate and regulate business premises development.
- Implement tenant development program and business asset management.
- Conduct monitoring and regulatory services on tenants to ensure that the established policies and regulations are complied with.
INTRODUCTION
The Business Financing Division (BPN) is to assist Bumiputera Entrepreneurs in starting or expanding business in various small and medium industries.

- Ensure the sustainability of existing entrepreneurs, business growth and develop new successful and innovative entrepreneurs.

- Implementing advisory services to customers within/outside.
Product Development
- Review and improve existing financing products and processes.
- Identify, review and create new financing products or programs.
- Organize strategic collaboration with agencies under KPLB, GLCs, Financial Institutions and others.
- Updating and providing relevant Circular / Referral Instructions from time to time.
- Conducting an Outcome Assessment Study for a financing scheme that has been implemented.
Budget and Monitoring
- Manage application for budget development and expenditure control.
- Provide data and coordinate financing-related reports.
- Perform monitoring tasks for all loan products.
- Coordinate & provide entrepreneur profile for all loan products.
