Application

Both advertisements on MRSM Form 1 & Form 4 admissions are released on September 8, 2019 in major national newspapers. Notifications are also posted on MARA’s official portal.

Any applications received after the closing date will not be entertained.

Applications can be made online to obtain a password. The password will be sent to the e-mail address registered when submitting your application. Please refer the application handbook.

General Requirements

  1. Malaysian Citizen.
  2. Mother or Father is a Malaysian citizen.
  3. Application must be submitted online.
  4. Candidates must sit for Pentaksiran Berasaskan Sekolah (PBS) 2019 which includes Pentaksiran Pusat (UPSR), Pentaksiran Sekolah (PS), Pentaksiran Aktiviti Jasmani, Sukan dan Kokurikulum (PAJSK) and Pentaksiran Psikometrik (PPsi).
  5. Candidates need to be physically fit.
  6. Candidates with special needs must be able to move without assistance.

Specific Criteria

  1. Candidates must have excellent academic result.
  2. Candidate must be active in co-curriculum activites.
  3. Priority is given to candidates from low-income group.
  4. Selection of successful candidates is based on merit.

You will receive a pop up saying “Your form has been successfully submitted” immediately after pressing the send button. You are required to print your application.

Applicants are required to key in his i.c. number and automatically their name and examination index number will appear on the screen. To get the password, applicants are also required to key in their email address and hand phone number.

Applicant’s information can be updated until closing date.

You are eligible if either your mother or father is a Malaysian citizen. Applicants can use the passport number by filling up ‘0’ in the remaining blank spaces. Example : 321567000000

If you fail to get a password and a popup message saying NO INFORMATION  AVAILABLE appears, you can send copies of your birth certificate, identification card and UPSR/ PT3 exam slip to pengambilanmrsm@mara.gov.my For candidates who were born after 2nd January 2008, please send additional documents i.e. Permission to Enrol Year 1 (2014) and Permission to Sit UPSR 2019.

No, only online application will be entertained.

You do not need to send any print out copy of the online application form to Secondary Education Division. You may print it out for your own copy.

Application & Offer

MARA admits students based on the vacancy. Admission to MRSM will be offered until 30th April 2020.

Yes, however the place will be offered to successful applicants based on the vacancy of the respective MRSM.

No. The application must go through MARA Secondary Education Division (BPM) only. The data on vacancy is confidential and parents are not allowed to have access to this data.

The appeal will still be considered after the review (of the result) however the application needs to be submitted online within the application period.

No, it is not true. Applicants will still be offered a place (in MRSM) based on merit.

The registration day for Form 1 will be in January 2020.

You can check on the official MARA portal once MARA has released the intake result.

No. Please contact the Bahagian Kawalan Kredit MARA for further enquiries.

You need to clear your credit/ loans with MARA. Once it is cleared you need to update Bahagian Kawalan Kredit MARA with receipt as proof of payment.

Appeal

Applicants can submit their appeal using the e-rayuan form that is available online. However, the application will still depend on the merit (of the applicants) and is subjected to the vacancy of the respective MRSM, OR

Yes. You may submit an appeal via online using the e-rayuan form and your case would be considered on applicant’s merit and vacancy.

MRSM Programme

MRSM Kota Putra (2009), MRSM Gemencheh (2010), MRSM Kepala Batas (2011), MRSM Sungai Besar (2015) dan MRSM Semporna (2019) for form One intake only.

Yes. However the offer will still be based on merit and vacancy. Priority is given to those who opted setuju ditempatkan ke mana-mana MRSM in the online application form.

International General Certificate of Secondary Education is a dual certification programme that is offered in MRSM Tun Abdul Razak Pekan, MRSM Johor Bahru, MRSM Baling, MRSM Alor Gajah, MRSM Kuala Klawang, MRSM Kuala Kubu Bharu, MRSM Kubang Pasu, MRSM Tumpat, MRSM Serting, MRSM Kuching, MRSM Kuantan, MRSM Langkawi, MRSM Batu Pahat and MRSM Parit.

Dual certification Programme is introduced as a value-added to the existing education system in MRSM. Students will still attend classes for core subjects like other MRSM Premier with the addition of a third language (French, Japanesse and Mandarin). Students will also get to experience the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum (Form 1 to Form 2) and will take the Checkpoint test. The Checkpoint is a low-stake diagnostic test. The students will continue to attend classes under the Cambridge Secondary 2 curriculum and sit for the IGCSE examination.

The International Baccalaureate-Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) retains the current curriculum carried out in all MRSM across Malaysia however it uses the MYP approach that is adapted from the International Baccalaureate education system.

Technical Programme instils technical elements through Science Engineering subjects which include mastery of Robotic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from form 1 to form 3. Students will be offered to take the Mechanical Engineering  and Electrical and Electronics courses for their SPM examination.
