INDERA MAHKOTA, 25th January 2026 – Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), through its Higher Education Division, successfully concluded the IPMA Model United Nations Debate Competition 2026 (IPMA MUN 2026) at Kolej Profesional MARA Indera Mahkota, reaffirming MARA’s strategic commitment to nurturing a new generation of GenMARA who are articulate, principled and globally attuned. Held from 23rd to 25th January 2026, the programme gathered 80 students from ten MARA institutions nationwide and served as a high impact talent development platform that integrates academic excellence with leadership, diplomacy and critical thinking skills.

Designed to expose students to real world global challenges, IPMA MUN 2026 simulated deliberations within the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations Human Rights Council, addressing issues ranging from the protection of civilians in urban warfare to the balance between freedom of speech and digital content regulation. In his closing address, Ir. Dr. Mahzan bin Teh, MARA Deputy Director General, emphasised that the programme goes beyond debate, positioning it as experiential learning that builds confidence in English communication, ethical reasoning and international engagement, in line with MARA’s aspiration to produce holistic and future ready leaders.

The competition also highlighted excellence among MARA students, with top delegates and delegations recognised across multiple award categories. Five Best Delegates will represent MARA and Malaysia at the Asia World Model United Nations XIII 2026 in Seoul, South Korea, carrying the GenMARA identity onto the international stage. This achievement underscores MARA’s sustained efforts to provide structured exposure, competitive platforms and global pathways that enable its students to stand shoulder to shoulder with peers worldwide, reflecting MARA’s enduring role in bringing forth the very best of GenMARA.
