Background

PROPOWER is a technopreneur development program in the field of electrical technology. Electrical maintenance and installation is a priority area proposed to increase entrepreneurs among small contractors and electrical experts selected in accordance with the conditions set by MARA.
Entrepreneurs who participate in the PROPOWER program will open electrical-based concept business premises and will also provide electrical services on the move.
The brand means ‘Professional (Pro) in Energy Services (Power)’. It is a standard business concept. It is believed that PROPOWER can give a good image and is synonymous with the branding of the technical field by MARA.

Objectives

Empowering entrepreneurs in the electrical field to enhance business and equity ownership.
To encourage IPMA, IPTA, IPTS graduates, especially MARA sponsored students, to venture into electrical engineering business or entrepreneur
To increase the participation of Bumiputera entrepreneurs with technical qualifications such as electricity, air conditioning, CCTV, Smart Building Automation (SBA), electrical and solar installation.
To produce highly skilled and competent Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the electrical

Target Groups

Existing entrepreneurs of an electrical field, graduates from MARA Educational Institutions (IPMA), Public Skills Training Institute (ILKA), Public and Private Higher Education Institutions (IPTA / IPTS), as well as local and foreign MARA electrical-field-sponsored students with at least three (3) years of entrepreneurial experience.
The selection criteria for entrepreneurs are as follows:

1. Entrepreneurs in the electrical field who run a business full-time
2. Aged 20 – 45 years
3. Working experience of three (3) years and above
4. The company’s annual sales are RM100,000 – RM300,000
5. Certified competency in the electrical field by Energy Commission (ST)
